Here is the deal, I actually like this service but you don't have to use it afterwards if you don't want to.
What it is
Its a ebay bidding/sniping service, except its free. What it does is that it watches the item thats in your ebay watch list, at the last 3 minutes, it gives you a call and you can bid via your cellphone. If you are serious about bidding something, simply wait until the last 5 second and bid, chances are you can win the item without having other people bidding up the price.
But what if I just want the free 20 bucks
Simple, pick something that either have a reserve that you are sure that its not met yet and bid the moment it calls you (3 minutes before auction ends) or bid on something with tons of bids that you are pretty sure that someone will outbid you. That or you can just buy some penny ebook that people sell on ebay.
Is it safe? I don't believe anything on the interweb.
If you are paranoid about stuff, just simply go to your ebay account maintaince menu.
Go to MY EBAY > Preferences > Third-party authorizations and revoke their service, but I will wait until you get the money before you revoke them. Change your password afterwards.
If you are interested in the service, just sign up and make a bid so you can get the 20 bucks from them.
